What is the verdict on affirmations?

Affirmations, do they work? I believe so. I have found affirmations to be effective, if used properly. What do I mean?

For affirmations to work, they must be worded correctly. For example when you say, “Money come easily to me.” how does it make you feel. If you think, “Yeah, right!” every time you affirm, “Money come easily to me.” you are pretty much canceling out the effect of your affirmation.

Affirmation must be stated in a way that will not elicit resistance. You can rephrase the above example and say, “I allow money to come easily to me.” or “Money is beginning to come easily to me.” These two statements do not generate resistance as the previous statement does.

Besides stating the affirmation in a way that will softens your resistance to it, you need to be persistent. Repeat the affirmations as often as possible. The more resistance you have concerning an issue, the more you need to repeat the affirmations.

When I was faced with a health problem which has been plaguing me for over a year, I found myself making 1,000 affirmations per day. Within three months, I was completely healed. I found that the more I affirm health and happiness, the less time I have to focus on sickness.

Affirmations, when stated correctly, work. You must be committed and persistent.
