Move to Greatness Focusing the Four Essential Energies of a Whole and Balanced Leader

5 Stars The Body-Personality Connection
Human beings have wanted to understand “personality types” (their own and others’)for thousands of years. Even though there are thousands of typing methods out there, the approach by Whitelaw/Wetzig is the only one I know of that doesn’t stop at the neck, i.e. doesn’t think personality is only of the mind. Turns out: how we are wired is indeed anchored in our nervous system; behaviors don’t only originate in the mind. Many of us seek to be more well-rounded persons or leaders by trying to just change our behaviors, so we find that we are pitting ourselves against (deep resistance in) ourselves. Instead, here is a deeper way to work with the whole person, through movement, chosen environments and other very accessible, daily routines. As an example, the behavioral, mental and emotional shifts I have recently observed in a hard-charging executive, whom I coach, after he added flexibility, stretching and elongation exercises (at a Gyrotonic studio) to our work, totally confirms the powerful message of “Move to Greatness.”

5 Stars Really Outstanding
Moving to Greatness is outstanding if you are looking for a fresh approach to managing, whether it is a small team, a company, or especially yourself. I raced through it and look forward to slowing down and rereading the parts which spoke to me the most. No matter what your personality and preferred style of interaction, you will find the book will provide you with insight into who you are. I’m a senior executive and got a tremendous amount out of this, but looking back on my career, this would have helped me at any level in the corporate ladder.

I found the tone of the book to be simultaneously warm, engaging, authoritative, and personal in the sense that it is from the author’s heart. There are many, many practical aspects to this which can be used to move to action – it is not just about ideas and theory, although I found plenty of that also.

I will occasionally read management books, but there is so much useless stuff out there that I really try to cherry pick the books which are worth my time. This was really outstanding and I’m betting it will be around for a long time in subsequent re-printings and new editions.

5 Stars Good self-help book…
I found this book interesting and informative source of self-help material. 5 Stars This book is viral!
Imagine this: a business book that resonates as much for your personal life as for your professional one. And why not? We want to be whole people, not just whole leaders. But beware: this book is viral! Once you read Move to Greatness, you want your partners — in business, in life — to read it too. It offers insights that are smart, that are real, that need to be shared. It’s a smart book that is imminently readable!

5 Stars Coordination, Creativity, Communication
Four mind/body patterns help bring balance to your life. Discover your strengths and weaknesses and how to address and overcome your weak patterns through physical and mental exercises. This book is very readable – filled with interesting anecdotes on well-known leaders, and helpful charts and graphics. I have been working with the material for several years. It is great that Betsy and Ginny finally put all this highly valuable and practical information in a book!
