61. Try to see what things you can get delivered home. Dry cleaning, prescription medicines and so on can be easily delivered home leaving you more time to do your shopping.
62. Using a timer is a great way to alert you to an appointment or to start on a task. Set the timer to go off ten minutes before you need to start cooking or getting ready. This will give you enough time to pack up and save anything that you were working on.
63. Organize similar tasks together so that you can finish them all in one go. For example, pool all the phone calls that you need to make in one place, all the bills that you need to pay in one and so on.
64. Before you head out for an appointment, check up if that is still on time or if it has been pushed ahead. This will give you time to finish up a few other chores.
65. Try not to pick up items that need special care. Some examples are clothes that need to be hand-washed or silver and brassware that need regular polishing.
66. Avoid time-consuming beauty treatments. Stick to what it is natural on most days.
67. Combine only those tasks that will allow you to focus on each one without any problem. For example, your child could do his or her homework as you fold the laundry.
68. Give up trying to be perfect – let others help you put away things so that the house stays organized though it may not be done in the exact same way that you wanted.
69. Before taking up a task, keep everything that you need for it handy. Do you know what you need to know to complete the task and do you have sufficient time to finish it? Only if the answer is yes, should you get down to doing it.
70. If you are wondering where you are spending most of your time, you could try wearing a watch for a week and then clocking the time that most of your activities take. You will be surprised to find that what you thought took only twenty minutes takes forty and cleaning the room when your kids pitch in takes only half an hour, instead of one hour when you do it alone.
71. If you are in the middle of completing a task, do not let anything interrupt you. Do not let the phone disturb you, let it go to voice mail; do not open the door for any neighbor and do not reply to any email right away. Concentrate on finishing your work.
72. Note things down in the manner and in a place where it is convenient for you. If you prefer a simple calendar to a more hi-tech Blackberry, that should be your choice. It is more important to note down the things that need to be done and then get them done.
73. Before you start noting down things in your new calendar, note down all the important dates like birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
74. Whenever you note a date in your calendar, you should also note down any action that needs to be taken before the date. For example, if your child’s friend has a birthday party on a certain date, note down that you have to pick up a gift for the child a few days before.
75. Identify a time of the day when you are more fresh and can concentrate more. Set this time aside to do tasks that require you to focus more like working on your taxes or finishing up some office work.
76. Never schedule things too close to one another. You should always keep in mind that factors like the weather, traffic and others running late can affect you.
77. One of the simplest ways of keeping things organized in your home or office is to do things right away if it is not going to take more than a few minutes. If you need to file a paper, do so right away. However, if you need to work out something and then file it away, keep it for later.

41. Keeping a small table near the exit where you can keep all the things you need in a hurry in the morning will save you a lot of time.
42. Keep the tote bag that you most often use, outside, near the door. If there are any library books to be returned, videos to be returned, tickets or letters to be mailed, you could keep putting them in this bag so that when you step out the next time, you have everything you need in the bag.
43. Ask your children to help you with small chores. They can help you load the washing machine and dryer, vacuum in smaller spaces and dust awkward corners.
44. Lay down some ground rules to manage your time better and to avoid clutter. For example, you could say that things that need to be fixed should be taken out within forty-eight hours or else gotten rid of. Similarly, only clothes in the dirty clothes hamper will be washed – the rest will have to wait till the next cycle.
45. If yours is a large family, it may help to run the washing machine at night. In the morning, you just need to put them in the dryer.
46. There are always small repair and restore jobs in the house and if they are not taken care, they could lead to bigger problems. Set aside some time on a weekend to take care of these small jobs.
47. Keep the operating hours of stores and places you go to handy. Like the laundry, video store, superstore and so on.
48. At times, you need something urgently and rush out to the store only to find that they do not have it. Always check up before hand if the store has what you need before you drive up till there.
49. If you are heading to a place where you know you may have to wait, like while picking up your child from school, you might carry some work with you like returning phone calls, writing out thank-you notes or even balancing your check-book.
50. If your children and their friends have a lot of common activities, instead of each family driving the child to the same place, you could consider car pooling with parents taking turns dropping and picking up the kids.
51. Learn to say no. When you are asked to volunteer for any activity, do not feel guilty about saying no. You should offer your time only when you can spare it.
52. Practice what you will say when you have to turn down any request. This will save you a lot of mental aggravation when you actually find yourself in the situation.
53. Plan for your meals well in advance instead of stopping at the store everyday to pick up something for the night. Do not complicate the process – keep it simple and healthy.
54. When you can spare the time, try to get as many things you need for cooking ready. Chop some vegetables in advance for a day or two and store some partially prepared items to make cooking meals easier.
55. Plan on shopping just once a week. Prepare a master list of groceries that you will need for a week – revise it over a period of a month so that you do not need anything before the end of the week.
56. Place your list on the refrigerator or some such visible place so that members of your family can put in what they need.
57. Try to go shopping first thing in the morning or in the late evening when the crowds are less and you can shop more quickly.
58. Before you head out for your shopping, make sure you plan your meals for the week. This way you will know what groceries you need for the week.
59. Where you can, mention the specific brand name and type of item you want on your list. Else you will waste a lot of time deciding what kind of shampoo you would like.
60. A whiteboard in the kitchen can be used to write down the meals planned for the week and the snacks available. This will make it easier for the kids to choose what they want to eat and ensure that all the food is consumed.

The most important factor that assists you in achieving your goals is to write your goals effectively. First you begin by deciding what the details of each of your goal are and then write them out on paper in a clear-cut manner. These are some guidelines to assist you in writing effect goal:

Always make sure that the written goal is positive and upbeat.

When writing your goal, be as specific as possible. For example if you want a new home, don’t just write down “I want a new home.” Write down something like, “ I want a a house with the following details: 3 bedrooms on an acre lot with 3 bathrooms and double garages, master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet, etc. Describe in details each bedroom, the kitchen, the living room, and the neighborhood. List as many specific details as possible.

Set a specific date for the achievement of the goal.

When you have several goals, it is advised that you prioritize the goals.

Make sure that your goals are not unrealistic for your present level of performance. Do not make other people responsible for your goals.
Be truthful and honest with yourself.

It is important that you have your goals written on paper and put on view so that you can look at them repeatedly.M/li>

Read your goals several times per day to ensure that you discern whether the daily decisions you make are moving you closer or further away from your goals.

With all the details of your goals on paper, you can plan your daily activity around them. You will know what you should do to move you closer to your goals. You can effectively prioritize all your daily tasks to assist you in reaching your goal in a shorter amount of time.

21. If your closet will not close because of too many clothes or you need to push on the stuff in your drawers to close it shut, you need to desperately thin down
your clothes.
22. Try to sort things into categories as they are easier to organize and hence easier to find later.
23. Often you collect clutter because of indecisiveness. You are not sure if you want to give away a tea-set you got as a wedding gift and whether you should retain your child’s first drawing. Make a decision and get rid of what you do not need.
24. Keeping stuff that you do not need only creates day-to-day problems. Would you rather care for just a few important things and spend the rest of your time meaningfully, or would you rather spend all your time cleaning a whole lot of junk stuff?
25. Not managing your time well, will mean missing important events like a close friend’s wedding or your father’s birthday party.
26. If you do not take control of your life, chances are you will end up feeling stressed and frazzled, the effects of which will be seen on your health. Clearing clutter will help you devote more time to things that matter.
27. Your children are bound to learn from you – if they see you clutter things around, they are likely to do the same.
28. Clutter can also keep you from focusing on the future and dragging you into the past. Getting rid of unwanted clutter will help you think more positive thoughts.
29. Being organized will also help you increase your creativity.
30. Stay on top of all the financial commitments that you have made – like paying school fees, credit card bills, mortgage payments or payments on any business loans. Defaulting on these payments will result in you having to pay interest charges and being left with a bad credit report.
31. Being organized also means staying on top of routine matters. If you do not attend to routine matters like taking the car for a tune-up or visit your dentist regularly, you may end up needing emergency care that will cost you far more and take up more time.
32. Store things so that you can see them clearly. Else you may end up buying a duplicate of something that you already have.

33. Getting organized is important in your workplace as well. Your office may evaluate you based on your performance and also on how organized your work area is.
34. Keep a notebook handy so that you can note down all that you need to do. If you do not note them down, you are more likely to forget things. Noting down things to do will help clear your mind and relieve you of stress.
35. Have a designated place to keep your to-do notebook. If you are stepping out, carry it with you and put it back in its place once you return home.
36. Keep this notebook updated. Strike out things that you have managed to finish. This will also give you a sense of accomplishment that will help you stay organized.
37. Note important dates and schedules on a calendar put up in a prominently visible place.
38. Good time management starts with noting where you waste your time. For a whole week, see where you waste your time and what can be done to speed up some processes.
39. It may help to duplicate some items in the house like having pens and a notebook near each telephone in the house. This will save time running up and down looking for a pen.
40. Morning hours are always rush hours. It may help if you organize yourself the night before by filling the coffee maker, keeping the breakfast items out, packing lunch and charging your cell phone.

Consult any management expert or pick up any book on organization and you will be given a few useful tips that are aimed at getting your home or office organized. However, as we have seen we can be organized in many more areas of our life, each with its own benefits. We give you below 77 life organization tips that will help you live a more complete life.

When you first start to organize things, you might feel overwhelmed at the sight of all the things that you have collected and may wonder how it ever got to this stage. Try not to feel guilty or worry too much about it. You are now taking positive steps to clear all the clutter and get yourself organized. So, from now on, spend your time and energy in focusing on the future and not repenting about the past.

Keep a bag of supplies handy as you go around sorting and organizing. This bag should typically contain the following – different sized Ziploc bags, a tote bag, garbage bags, timer, labels, notebook, pen, post-its, empty boxes and a large bin with handles. Start your campaign by creating a master plan that contains a list of all that you want organized or done in the house. Take a quick tour through the house and start noting down the jobs to be done in your notebook. These could range from cleaning bathroom drawers, sorting out toys, clearing newspapers, thinning your clothes closet and so on. This will remain your master list of short-term and long-term goals.

Some people find it less stressful to deal with one room at a time perhaps one a month. This is still OK, as you would have met all your deadlines within a year.

One good idea to keep you going is to take before and after photos of your room and various areas just so you can see the effect your organizing efforts are having on the house.

From your list of tasks to be done, identify those that are creating more problems for you and make those your priority.

Do not shop for anything new till you are done organizing. Only if you are convinced that there is a need for the item and that it will be used, should you purchase it.

Do not go to any more sales or discount stores till you have organized what you own.

If you are unable to stop thinking about an item that you want to buy, keep the picture of that item in a folder so that you can come back to it once you are done organizing.

Sort and organize all visible clutter first. Seeing some empty space where there was clutter first will give you a sense of gratification and keep you motivated.

Set realistic deadlines for organizing various rooms and finally the whole house.

Break up bigger goals into smaller, intermediate goals.

Before you start organizing your home or office, you should know what you are trying to achieve. Take a few minutes and list out the top five reasons for you to start organizing.

Share your goals with your friends or family members. The thought of losing face before them if you do not finish your work in time will spur you on to getting things done.

Never do marathon sessions while sorting or organizing. Chances are you might take hasty decisions and throw out stuff that you actually needed.

After attaining every goal, reward yourself with something that will give you satisfaction – could be a dinner outside or just a nap.

To truly test whether something is organized or not is to find out how easy it is to access something in that space.

If an item is being used regularly, it should have a designated place for it. If it does not have a place for it, it is not being used regularly and can be considered clutter.

Only keep those items that you are going to use and things that you value; ruthlessly discard the rest.

If you have been holding onto something hoping to get it fixed, fix it within a certain time else throw it out.

If you are holding onto something hoping to donate it to a charity at some stage, do so right away. Keep the contact numbers of a few charities in hand so that you can donate stuff to them right away.

If you want something in your life, all you have to do is ask for it from the Universe. Does this sound like a dream come true? Is it really that simple? Good things in life can really be yours just for the asking.

The question is, “Do you know how to ask for what you want?” The key is to know what you want and ask for it in the right manner. You can really have anything you want in life.

Let us say that you want a laptop computer, just wanting it is not going to get you the computer. You must focus your thought on the laptop. Imagine yourself having the laptop. Imagine how it would feel to have it. See yourself enjoying using it.

Make sure that the images you see are clear and vivid. How does it feel to strike your fingers on to the keyboard of the laptop? See yourself enjoy having it and then let go. Do not bother yourself with how it will come, why is it not here yet, how would you be able to afford it, etc. Just believe that it will come and let go.

Go on with your life without offering any negative thought about it. If you could truly believe that you have it, it will surely manifest in your life. The speed at which something you want manifest in your life is dependent upon the degree of your resistance. You offer resistance to what you desire by doubting and wondering-when, why, how, etc.

Ask and believe that it is already yours, and it must manifest. The key is to believe without a doubt. Law of attraction states that what you focus on will manifest in your life. The problem with most people is that they focus on what they do not want. Most people spend time doubting rather that believing and they wonder why they do not manifest what they want.

Program like Science of Getting Rich can help you manifest wealth in your life, while program like the Abundance Course can help you with letting go of resistance; thus helping you with manifesting what you want with ease.

It is a good idea to seek inspiration from others, but it is detrimental to your self-esteem to compare yourself unnecessarily to others. Stop comparing yourself to others and stop putting yourself down. Stop using negative statements.

Do not say ‘I can never lose weight’; ‘I can never afford to buy a fancy car like my cousin’.

Use brief, affirmative statements about yourself to reinforce your self-belief and build your self-esteem. Reprogram your mind with positive affirmations.

It is a good idea to repeat affirmative statements whenever you have the time, but especially during early morning and late night times. Researchers claim that those are the best times to introduce your brain to new ideas and new thoughts. As your brain gets used to the thoughts you introduce to it, you will be surprised to find yourself finding new creative ways of achieving your goals; ways you had previously never imagined.

Realize that self-confidence is not arrogance. When you are arrogant, you feel that you are superior to others while others are inferior to you. Being self-confidence is being secure in your position and yet being understanding of others.

Keep a journal of your daily experience. If you have had a pleasant experience, write down the exact circumstances that made you feel that way. This will help you recreate the situation whenever you read the passage and will help you feel good just as you had on the first day.

In your journal, note down uncomfortable emotions that you may have experienced. Be aware of the circumstance that made you feel uncomfortable. When you go through your journal try to assess why you feel the way you did. Now try to answer whether you can control or manage your emotions better the next time you come across a similar situation. If you feel you cannot, you should explore whether you can avoid being in such a situation. All these writings will help you gain better control over your emotions, your actions and hence make you more confident of yourself.

While being in disturbing events, try to identify what is so disturbing about it? Could it be that you have been looking for more external approval than on how you truly felt? If so it may be more a case of hurt pride than any genuine reason for you to be angry or hurt.

Create clear goals for yourself in all areas of your life – personal, professional, health or spiritual. Write down what you would like to achieve and where you see yourself one year from now, two, five and ten years from now. Tell yourself that you deserve to achieve these goals and that you have the ability to achieve them.

When you write down your goals, for each one of them, write down smaller sub goals. Create a calendar containing reasonable deadlines for reaching each one of these. As you complete these smaller goals, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are getting closer to achieving your goals and at the same time feel more confident of doing so.

When faced with a fearful situation, identify your fears and then try to confront them. Visualizing yourself as overcoming your fears will make you overcome your uneasiness and make you more confident.

Knowing both your strengths and your weaknesses can aid in boosting your confidence. Knowing your weakness will quickly tell you when it is time to seek help from others.

Try to stay optimistic and positive whatever the situation. While it is true that you will be facing some very tough challenges in life, the only way you can truly face them is by staying positive. When you are facing a tough situation, the best option is to see how you can tackle it or make it better rather than complaining endlessly about it.

Know that optimism is not a state of denial. Staying positive and optimistic implies being aware of what the circumstances are and taking steps, importantly, positive, proactive steps to find solutions.

Identify and overcome your feelings of jealousy. Do not let jealousy cloud your judgment. Learn from the success of others to plan your own.

Practice being assertive. You have to learn to stand up and protect your self-respect. Even if you have made a mistake, you do not have to take nonconstructive negative criticism from anyone.

However great the pressure, learn to say no when you think necessary. Rather than compromise on your values, you should be assertive and protect them. You will feel proud of yourself and your self-confidence will be strengthened.

You have unique abilities and talents that will bring you success in ways different from others. Learn to accept compliments and your success without any justification.

Exercise regularly because it will make you feel better about yourself and will of course brings you obvious physical benefits. Take up an activity that you enjoy and more importantly that you feel you will be able to take up regularly. Do not take up something very ambitious – start small. Just walking or running in the morning should also do you good. If you do not feel motivated enough when you do it alone, try to go out with a friend.

Even when you are feeling emotionally disturbed, one of the best things you could is find emotional release in a manner that you find satisfying. Some find going for a quick jog relaxing while others prefer to relax with music.

A healthy body needs a healthy mind. Take time off to meditate or reflect in solitude. Do so for at least fifteen minutes a day. Practicing meditation accompanied by deep breathing will also help you manage your emotions better.

Adequate sleep is very important to our overall well-being. Make sure that you take steps to ensure you get your quota of sleep every night. Do not eat too much or watch disturbing news or read a disturbing novel just before you go to sleep. Read inspirational novels, affirmations or pleasant stories before you go to bed. If you wake up feeling refreshed, you will naturally feel more confident about yourself.

Learn to have fun at what you are doing. While this may not be possible in every situation, most of the times, there is a sense of dreariness to whatever we do. Try to think of ways in which you can do what you are doing and still have fun.

Have a sense of humor. While again, this may not be possible at all times, having a sense of humor will allow you to look at your mistakes differently, making you more capable of quickly acknowledging them and trying to rectify them.

Be aware of your negative emotions. As and when you start experiencing negative emotions, take steps to bring them under control and as soon as you can seek release for them. Keeping them pent up inside of you is not healthy and may lead to more problems for your self and for those around you. Being able to quickly identify your emotions and actually manage them well will only help build your self-esteem.

Take care of your relationships. Understand that you need to treat others the way you would like to be treated, with respect and understanding. Instead of saying something hurtful that you may regret later on, learn to take a pause, calm down and return to finish the conversation.

Start making time for yourself, your family and your friends. Spend more time with your children. Take your partner out for a romantic dinner or a romantic weekend getaway. Rediscover old friends. Being in nurturing relationships will help you feel better about yourself and help you regain your self-esteem.

Mere physical exercise is not enough to have a healthy body. Eat healthy balanced foods and go for your regular check-ups. Knowing that you are healthy and physically fit will make you more positive about the future.

Whenever you fear negative thoughts entering your mind, turn to more pleasant thoughts. Think of times when you were happy and at peace, maybe times of success. Try to recreate the scene in your mind and you will feel much calmer. While constructive criticism can be helpful, try to stay away from overly negative people. Stay close to people who are positive, supportive and encouraging of you.

Do not try to aim for perfectionism. It is an unattainable goal and will only help you feel frustrated and lower your self-esteem when you are not able to reach your perfect goal. Try to always do the best you can.

As part of your overall goal strategy, keep small goals for everyday. It could be as simple as looking up some information or picking up the phone and speaking to a friend who you have not spoken to in years. Do something everyday that will give you a sense of fulfillment and improve your self-esteem.

When you are feeling down, try and spend some time in nature. Take natural walks, watch some birds, admire the flowers or just walk on the grass bare feet. Whatever you do, spend your time really being one with nature. You cannot but be influenced by the beauty of it and you will feel your spirits rising.

Start a new hobby or if you already have one but have not done anything about it for ages, make some time for it. Having a hobby is a good way of releasing stress and negative emotions at the end of a long day. Learning a new hobby also brings with it the same benefits but in addition you also have a sense of accomplishment when you manage to learn something.

Keep a diary in which you will note down all that happened in the day; particularly those events that made you feel proud. Mention which specific talents or abilities of yours helped you achieve that. This will not only bolster your self-confidence tremendously but whenever you are having any kind of self-doubts, you will be able to read back these passages and tell yourself, that you are indeed capable of achieving many things.

Learn to praise yourself even for what may be small achievements for you and learn to accept compliments. Write down exactly what you did right in your diary along with the specific compliments that you received. These can inspire you and motivate you to do more, especially when you are feeling a little down.

When you have achieved any goal or a target, treat yourself. Encourage yourself to do more and decide to treat yourself better when you make even more significant progress. For example, treat yourself to a nice dinner every time you do well in your community college and promise yourself a vacation when you actually get the degree.

It is best to forgive those who have erred against you rather than carrying on a grudge forever. This is not only mentally stressful but has been shown to have an adverse impact on the physical health as well. Giving up on past grudges and forgiving others will make you feel a lot better, your mind will feel lighter and you will be able to look forward to the future with greater optimism.

Learn to forgive yourself. Do not be burdened by thoughts of guilt and regret. Though what you did may have consequences for others, it is best that you take responsibility, accept your mistake as a mistake and quickly try to figure out how to rectify matters. Accepting your mistake does not make you a weak person, on the contrary, you are a brave person and others will see you as such.

Do not try to deny your emotions, however uncomfortable they are. Many a times, some situations are so painful, that you may be overcome by strong emotions. Denying these emotions will only lead to greater resentment and may eventually explode in unwanted ways at unexpected times. If you feel the emotions you are feeling are too strong for you to overcome alone, take the help of a friend or professional help. Gaining control over your emotions particularly strong ones is very important for you to have a positive self-esteem.

You should stop all kinds of negative thoughts that go through your mind, particularly the critical ones. Keep reading or repeating your affirmations to yourself so that your mind starts thinking only positive thoughts.

Do not be afraid of getting into a new situation, whether it is professional like a new job or personal, like a new relationship. Your anxiety may make you shrink away from these for fear of failure. However, that is always self-fulfilling. Try to stay positive and determined to be so even if you fail.

You may wish to change some aspects of your life but may be thinking that there is very little you can do at this late stage. However, you should understand clearly that if you would like any changes in your life, you could achieve them at any stage.

Simply desiring change is not enough – one has to find a balance between wanting change that is realistic and change that is challenging. If you set too high a goal, you may not be able to reach it and may end up feeling even worse about yourself. On the other hand, setting very simple goals may not bring about the change that you are looking for. Set goals that are fairly challenging but which you are convinced you should be able to achieve.

Never be afraid of making mistakes. This fear will always make you uncertain and indecisive, making you lose your self-confidence. Always be quick to own up to your mistakes and take them as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Even if you have made mistakes, remember that nobody has the right to make negative or nonconstructive criticism of you, including yourself. Do not put yourself down or allow anyone else to do so – stand up to others firmly but politely.

Every success that you achieve is important – whether others consider it big or small should not matter to you. You should value every one of your successes – there is nothing more powerful to boost your self-confidence than that.

When you gain praise from others or feel satisfied about an achievement of yours, do not look at it doubtfully. Everyone is capable of success and you should understand that you deserve yours.

At times, spending all your time in the hustle and bustle of life can drain your spirit. It helps to rejuvenate it by taking some time for yourself – by spending some time alone. You can do anything that will help bring inner peace – may it be meditation or listening to music. Find that one thing that will bring you solace so that you can face life with renewed vigor.

The monotony of life at times can really break your spirit at times and dent your self-confidence. Take some time to bring in change – play with your children or go away with your partner for a weekend. Surprise yourself with a break and you will find yourself feeling a lot better and a lot more confident.

You should also plan on longer holidays. Be specific about where you would like to go and enjoy planning for them. This will help you keep your spirits and confidence level up. Make a list of things that you would like to do in your holiday. Taking a well-deserved vacation and coming back feeling rested will make you feel much better about yourself.

Do not carry any emotional baggage that you can let go of. Many a times our past experiences, especially as children have a deep bearing on how we feel now. It is possible that as a child, someone made fun of you because of your height or background. Despite overcoming all that, there may be times when you feel a sense of shame and you are not sure where it is coming from. If you are able to identify what triggers it, learn to put it behind you. If you cannot, seek professional help so that you can grow as a person and boost your self-esteem.

If someone has offended you or hurt you in an intentional manner, you may be carrying a strong grudge inside you. However, carrying this grudge inside you for too long is only going to make matters worse. You are going to be constantly bitter and that is going to take a toll not only on your emotional health but also your physical well-being. If you let go of past grudges, you will find yourself feeling a lot more confident of yourself.

Never take anything for granted – not even your close family and friends. Always be grateful for what you have. When you start taking things for granted, the slightest inconvenience is blown out of proportion and you perceive insults where there are none. This can really bring down your self-esteem. On the other hand, being grateful and appreciative of what you have will make you more confident of what you have been able to achieve and others will respect you more for showing this appreciation.

Do not provide immediate reactions to any situation or person. If something has happened or someone has said something to anger you, respond with assertiveness not aggression. The best thing would be to take time to calm down and then react in a more controlled manner. This will boost your confidence in your ability to handle even the most tense situations.

Planning and preparing for the future is a positive sign while simply worrying about it will only leave you permanently concerned.

Understand that the most precious commodity you have with you is time. If you waste the present moment in fruitless pursuits or unnecessary worry, you are losing something irretrievable. Later you will come to regret all the time you had wasted and will feel very disappointed on having done so. This will cause further damage to your self-esteem.

Being constantly active and making full use of all your time in the pursuit of positive things will help keep you in a cheerful frame of mind and boost your self-esteem.

If there are any incidents in your past that have caused you any trauma, you need to take steps to heal them. You may be able to do this with the help of your family and friends or you may need professional help. Whichever way you choose, you need to come to terms with your trauma and start the healing process. Your emotional health will improve and you will feel more self-confident.

You need to first and foremost take responsibility for the way your life is today and where it is heading. While others may have had anywhere from a small to a large role to play in shaping it, it is finally your responsibility to let run the way it has been or to do something positive about it.

Look for a good role model. Understand what has made them so successful and so self-confident and learn from that.

Treat your failures as stepping-stones and dwell more on your achievements, to derive positive thoughts from them.

Take steps to feel good about yourself – groom yourself well, buy some new clothes, visit the parlor to give yourself a complete makeover.

Act very confidently and assertively – you will see some immediate results. You will feel far more confident right away.

Do not focus too much on aspects or abilities that you lack. You may not have the ability to engage a group or make them laugh but you may be a very sincere and loyal friend who sticks by others. Focus on your good attributes.

Being well prepared is half the job done, they say. This is absolutely true. Being ill prepared only sets you up for failure and dents your confidence.

You should work continuously on improving your skills or acquiring new ones so that you never feel insecure in your job or any job that you may be looking for.

Have a bunch of relaxation exercises ready to work on when you are feeling particularly stressed out.

Always stand up straight and walk straight. This will make you look and feel more confident.

Break up each one of your main goals into small, more easily reachable goals. When you achieve this goal (no matter how small), it will be a task off your calendar and you will feel more confident having achieved something.

Life is not a meant to be a race that determine whether you are a winner or a loser. Compare your achievements with your own and not others. Your self-confidence depends on your needs and abilities.

Change your diet – try eating more fresh and balanced diets. You will not only find yourself feeling much better physically, you will feel more refreshed in the mind.

Make sure you are getting enough rest and recreations. Without these two, it will be difficult for you to be at your peak when you are trying to achieve something.

Fix yourself up to feel good – like fixing your teeth for example. If you look good, you will even feel good.

Take some grooming tips and change your style to reflect the ideas today.

If you buy a wardrobe in keeping with the trends and colors of the day, you will find yourself feeling much better about yourself not to mention getting admiration from friends, family and colleagues.

Many people nowadays are treating eyeglasses as another fashion accessory. If you feel your glasses are making you look old, outdated and are lowering your self-esteem, go in for a new pair of stylish, branded eyeglasses or think of contact lenses.

Whenever you start comparing yourself with others, stop immediately, take a step back and think of all the wonderful things in your life.

Write down your set of priorities – your immediate requirements. Writing them down and sticking to them will give you great satisfaction.

The New Year need not be the only time you make resolutions. Anytime you are feeling low on confidence, make a resolution to achieve or do one of the things that will bring you maximum satisfaction.

Consider changing your job if it is not giving you satisfaction and you do not enjoy doing what you do. Explore all possibilities and if you feel strongly you do not like your current job, find another one.

Make your future financially secure – one of the best ways of boosting your self-esteem, it is very important that you save well and invest wisely so that your future is secure. If you need help, go to a professional financial advisor.

When you can spare the time, make a brief list of habits you would like to stop and habits you would like to instill in you. Make the list and start from now.

Do not collect anything and everything for the sake of sentiment. You will only find yourself feeling collecting an endless amount of stuff – whether it be an old subscription that you have not let go off or old photos, get rid of them at the earliest opportunity.

Plan for a trip to some really exotic or adventurous trip. Instead of going to standard tourist spots, go explore places on your own. You will be given a fresh perspective, which will influence your thinking.

While speaking, you should speak at a slow steady state that shows you are in control rather than speaking excitedly and not making any sense.

Running is one of the best ways to get your adrenalin pumping – it dispels all negative thoughts and your sense of physical fitness will also leave you feeling good about yourself.

Join a support group – you will meet people who have gone through or are going through similar issues and you will find a wonderful plethora of tips and advice that you can use to boost your self-esteem.

Join a professional games league like bowling to basketball. You will meet new friends and use your time constructively.

For a sense of achievement and to make life interesting, learn a new language.

Use practical methods to remember and relive good memories. Look at your football trophies, rerun your professional successes, and pull out pictures of happy days.

Music with some toe-tapping, heart-thumping rhythm can immediately fill you with energy.

Whenever you are feeling a little down, watch reruns of movies that make you feel happy and grateful about your life.

Talk to friends and family when your self-esteem is low – they are your biggest supporters and sympathizers. They will point to you what your positive and strong aspects and work tirelessly to rebuild your self-confidence.

Try to be authentic. Do not copy others – their looks, their ideas or their value system. The more original you are, the better respected you will be, boosting your self-esteem.

While speaking, make eye contact with others. Even when you made a mistake, learn to speak equally assertively.

Do not let a situation control you. Believe in your ability to bring about changes in the situation and behave accordingly.

Just as you would not want others to be critical of you, you should also learn to not be overly critical of others. Your success is not measured by the failures or the mistakes of others and your confidence will be seen in the measured way you react to failures of others. Be constructive and carry them with you to collectively achieve success.

Being self-confident is being open about everything in life. You need not be afraid of any secrets affecting your status.

Focus on solutions rather than your problems. You have a weight problem – instead of worrying about it, see what small steps you can take towards finding a solution for it.

Finish something that you have been putting off for a long time however hard it may be – perhaps a phone call to a family member you are angry with or just the cleaning of the attic. Finishing these up will give you a sense of fulfillment.

Empower yourself with knowledge about what you can do to improve your self-confidence. Research more, and read more – from books, websites, magazines and educational institutions.
